A renowned scholar and the National Imam of Songhai Ghana known as sheik Abdul Malik Maiga has shown his worry about the post moving via online media labeling all Islamic Schoolars as Booka (custom) Mallams.
As per the sheikh those “so-called” mallams advertising for money rituals are popularly known as booka Mallams and their ways are not in line with the teachings of Islam. He added that the greater part of them are not even Muslims.
The Islamic Religion frowns against such act and it’s one of the biggest sins that is not pardonable by Allah.
The murder of the 10 year old kid in Kasoa has acquired pressure in the country as the vast majority are pleading with the Ghana Media Commission to forbid all Fake mallams from advertising on television.
The activities of these sorcerers (Mallamai Boka) is the inspiration for the slaughtering of the innocent kid.
Sheik Maiga in a one-on-one interview with Zongolink Tv said he wishes to inform the good people of Ghana that Islamic Scholars are not sorcerers or booka mallams as being depicted on Tv by the fake ones.
He said: “it’s very unfortunate the term mallam is been used in our primary or basic textbooks, story books etc to represent witchdoctor, juju, voodoo etc”
He again added he would be glad if the Ghana Communication Authority prevent all media houses from such advertisements.
