Sheikh Anas Ibrahim Tawfiq Al Bakri of Darul Hadith in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region has distance himself from a nomination in Ghana Muslim Achievers Awards' category 'Mualim of the year' saying the reward of their work as Ulumah's is with Allah not man.
According to him in a video on Darulhadith Facebook page at their weekly lecture, by nominating them (Mualims) means the organizers have assume the role of God of rewarding.
He also described the nomination as a temptation to his evangelism noted that, ‘they have tried different means to silent us but they have failed. So they're trying to entice us with this worldly award but we are above this’.
According to Sheikh Tawfiq, he is not aware of the event neither was he also consulted so all the allegations about him on it is not founded
He also advised his colleague from the Ahlussunna sect to desist from spreading rumors.
The Ghana Muslim Achievers Awards is annual event organized by Sukra Concepts supported Progressive Muslims Forum.
The awards scheme honor, rewards, celebrates and recognize the achievements of individuals and institutions in Ghana and their contribution to National development efforts as a way of encouraging society at large.
