The Supreme leader of Tijaniya Ghana and President of the Tijaniya Muslim Council of Ghana, Sheikh Khalifa Ahmad Abul Faidi Abdulai Maikano Jallo rta together with the Household of Sheikh Abdulai Ahmad Maikano Jallo rta have resolved that this year's Maulid of Sheikh Ahmad Altijani rta has been called off due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This year is the first time that this annual event which started in 1969 has been canceled. The exigencies of the time necessitated this difficult decision to be taken in order to protect and preserve human lives.
In his statement he added: “It is said that with life all things are possible and a true Muslim is the one who accepts and welcomes the decree of Allah at all times no matter the situation. As such it is our prayer that Allah come to our rescue to save the world from this deadly pandemic.
All members of the Jallo fraternity are hereby requested to absorb this painful and bold decision. Hopefully next year Inshsllahu things will normalize for the celebration to come on,“
