Zulaiha Ibrahim Abdul Baki BAMBA well known as NHYIRABA's is the C.E.O of NHYIRABA's Kitchen with Jollof as their principle dish.
NHYIRABA broke in tears as she narrates her story as she celebrates 2years Anniversary.
In her speech she said:
“Two years ago, we set out to meet the needs of our community by providing healthy meals that come at affordable prices. Because we believe that, a healthy mind lives in a healthy body and what makes a healthy body than a good meal? There is so much that we go through already in a day especially in the big city of Accra,so having a good meal should not be compromised.
In the very beginnings of Nyhiraba’s Kitchen to share the bittersweet moments that has brought us this far.
I must confess, It was not easy at all when we decided to embark on this journey. When we started, market was very bad and we were barely making sales or making enough to cover operational cost. Almost everything wasn’t going on well. We had to look for ways and means to find money for market, from one working day to the next. It went on and on with no end in sight.
So there was this faithful day when I came home from work, under so much pressure and anxiety, I broke down in tears. I was getting fed up and losing hope. So I pickd up my phone and called my dad. Throughout our conversation, he noticed I wasn’t ok. He then ask why I was crying?. With a teary voice, I answered, “daddy, I am tired, I want to give up, It is almost 6 months now, and I am working without gains but losses.” So this man began laughing and said to me,Who told u is going to be easy.“Go and pick your Quran, open to Surah Baqarah, verse 153. What did Allah say?”. I quoted the verse to him to which he translated “O you who believe, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed Allah is with patience.
He then further asked me to go to verse 286 which reads “Allah do not burden a soul beyond that it can bear. and then we came down to Surah Sharh Ayah 4 to 5. To which he said, in this Ayah Allah promise us ease not once but twice “for Indeed with hardship will be ease, with hardship will be ease.
Afterwards, he then said to me ”this is what I have for you ,at any point in life if you feel like giving up or cannot do something, Refer back to this Ayahs of the Holy Quran,and then build your hopes back. You will do it and you can do it by the will of Allah. We are always backing you up with our prayers In Sha Allah.
With this words, We picked up the pieces and went back to work. And Alhamdulilah so far so good.
It is my firm believe that a lot of business people go through similar struggle and even quit when the going goes tough. I want to say do not give up, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Our 2years anniversary is not about me nor that of Nhyiraba Kitchen. It is about you, the very people in the community from every corner of the city that have continuously supported our brand with your presence, advice and prayers.
