GREATER ACCRA PARAMOUNT FULANI CHIEF/TABITAL PULAAKU INTERNATIONAL GHANA CHAPTER AND SALIHU SHU'AIBU SARAUTA WELFARE VISIT
The Danbaki Royal Family wrote one their timeline on Facebook about the arrest of some Fulanis in Ashanti Region.
On Thursday 9th January 2020, a delegation from Danbaki Royal Fulani Family of Greater Accra, Tabital Pulaaku, Salihu Shu'aibu Sarauta and led by Yakubu Musa Barry, visited a prison in Kumasi to enquire about inmates.
The visit was prompted by reports that some Fulanis had been arrested and remanded in custody including minors. The main objective of the vist was to find ways to enhance the welfare of all inmates and to find out if the allegations were true and if so, to engage in dialogue with the authorities to ensure that due process is applied to affected inmates especially minors.
The authorities were welcoming and granted unhindered access to the inmates, in the end there was a very positive and productive exchange at the end of which the officers encouraged the delegation to address a letter to the Ministry of Interior concerning the allegations.
The delegation will spend a day or two in the Ashanti Region to attend to other matters concerning the Fulani Communities.
