Sultan Al-Mansoori, who is the current minister of economy of the United Arab Emirates has clearly declared that they are working on joint Saudi Arabia and the UAE visas. This shall allow tourists coming to Saudi Arabia to visit UAE on a single Visa and tourists coming to the UAE to visit Saudi Arabia without going through a visa process. This new visa shall be introduced in 2020.
It will increase tourism in both countries as Muslim tourists coming to the UAE would also be able to perform Umrah in Saudi Arabia.
According to the Newspaper Al Eqtisadiah, this initiative is a part of the potential and great measures taken by Saudi Arabia to ease the entry of tourists in Saudi Arabia to promote tourism.
Mansoori confirmed that this initiative has been taken after approval from the concerned authorities. He also added that the Saudi and UAE officials are working together to implement the joint visas. Joint meetings and working are taking place on a regular basis.
It will increase the flights between the two countries
The volume of flight services between the two countries is not enough. This initiative will allow countries to enhance flight services. The countries wish to double the flight services among them through this new visa policy.
The Minister also assured that the new joint visa policy would be beneficial for the national companies in both the countries. The markets of the two countries shall expand and the level of coordination among them shall expand tourism, airports, and hotels shall also grow.
The minister briefed that this is one of the most concerned initiatives of bot the countries right now. Both are keen to implement a joint visa soon. This is so because the countries shall enjoy growth in tourism and their GDP shall benefit from it.
In his address at the Future Investment Initiative session, Al Mansoori said that the coordination between the two countries is a must. The coordination is to be made at economic and investment levels. The FII session is an important one that will not only benefit Saudi Arabia but the entire region including the UAE.
