A couple of days ago, there was a link circulating on social media purporting that, the headmistress of KNUST SHS has denied the Muslim students of the school their right to worship. On hearing that, the Ashanti Regional President Muhammad Nazir Inuwa pursued the issue so as to find resolution on the matter,Alhamdulilah,the president was able to interact with the headmistress and the GMSA patron of the school and got to realize that *the issue was a complicated one which involves a lot of scrutiny before arriving at a conclusion.*
The headmistress made it clear that, there were things that ought to be checked regarding the place of worship of the Muslim students and some of the activities that a section of the students engage in.
*Ultimately,the issue was solved amicably and the headmistress asserted that she doesn't intend to infringe on anyone's right but to make sure the right thing is being done.*
Moreover,the GMSA president requested that her school should host the upcoming preliminary stage of their zone's quiz,an inter-school quiz GMSA organizes annually,this she accepted delightfully and assured the president that her door is always opened to the association.
We would like to urge the general public to report without hesitation any issue of religious intolerance in schools and institutions to GMSA or any recognized Islamic organization for immediate actions to be taken. Religious intolerance is a cancer and a scourge we must purge.
